In July 2022, it became apparent that the County Council and the Inspector had acquiesced to the demands of private developers to place 'maximums' on affordable housing provision in the Local Development Plan. This yet again brought into serious question the integrity of the plan, which had completely ignored the concerns of thousands of residents, but bent over backwards for private developers.
In response, I submitted a representation (see images below) to the 'Matters Arising Changes' consultation demanding that this was reversed.
I am pleased that, in response to this, the Council and the Inspector agreed to clarify the policy to ensure that there was no reference to 'maximums' on affordable housing.
