Objecting to the Planning Application
The deadline for objections is Friday the 3rd May 2024.
To object, all you need to do is email planning.consultation@flintshire.gov.uk with the subject of the email as: ‘Objection – Land off Gladstone Way (FUL/000195/24)’. Please also include your address in your email to ensure your objection is counted.
Your objection does not necessarily need to be long or detailed, the most important thing is that as many formal objections are lodged as possible, so please encourage family members, friends, and neighbours to object.
Below are some issues you may wish to refer to in your objection:
The impact of such a large, 300 home development, on your local community. You may wish to reference how this proposed development will essentially 'merge' Hawarden and Mancot and the impact that has on community identity.
Any personal experiences of struggling to get an appointment with a local deoctor, dentist, or healthcare provider.
Any personal experiences of being on school waiting lists or not being able to get your child into a local school
Any personal experience of flooding in the local area
Your thoughts on the impact of this development on roads, traffic safety, and pollution (Cross Tree Lane, Ash Lane, Gladstone Way, Glynne Way etc.)
The wider impact of large-scale developments in the local area (there are also plans for hundreds more houses on Green Lane in Ewloe and in Garden City).
Your thoughts on the density of housing which is being proposed - do you think this is in keeping with the character of the existing community?
The impact of the development on other local facilities, for example, Hawarden Cemetery, which is nearly at full capacity.
Concerns related to previous mining in the area and the suitability of building on land with mineshafts underneath.
Any reflections on the fact that more than 2,500 signatures, hundreds of placards, and hundreds of previous objections have been ignored in relation to this development to date.
Remember, the deadline is Friday 3rd May – your objection need only take a couple of minutes, so please do email it to planning.consultation@flintshire.gov.uk as soon as possible.
If you need any help with objecting, or have any questions, please email Councillor Sam Swash on: sam.swash@flintshire.gov.uk
